We needed to establish hosting outside of North America and started looking into Europe for the solution. Unfortunately, the UK was NOT the best choice. It has something to do with the number of pipes that are running to the mainland that slow down the connection from outside the UK. We moved the site to Germany and never looked back. We were lucky to find a company that is sitting on the European HUB with a great deal of technical expertise as well.
