I did a quick search on http://www.google.com for Daytona 500 history. Here is the best site I turned up.  It does not answer all your questions. http://www.speedfx.com/history/012098daytona_beach4.shtml The history of NASCAR seems to be hard to come by on the internet.                                         Marty
