Hello, I'm a newbie here and maybe this has been brought up before. I was curious about trying sunless tanning cream so I got a bottle and have only used it on my legs, the rest of me is pretty naturally tanned. I thought it looked nice and natural, but there's one thing I don't like...at all. The smell! The actual lotion smells ok, but after it's taken effect, I really don't like the scent remaining on the skin. And it stays for so long!! After showers and after like 2 days. Is there anything at all to do about this? Are all tanning creams like this? I've only used the one and would like to keep doing it every once in awhile, but not if it all smells that way! Any suggestions of how to wash the smell away...or anything?? Thanks!! Laura

Hhmm, I've used Neutrogena's Sunless tanning foam, and their Instant Bronzer and neither one smelled to me. Neither did a Banana Boat sunless tanning lotion I've used.

I know what you mean. I guess this is the down side to using bottled tanners. I have tried many brands and they all bring out this same unpleasant scent on me. Carol

I think that the smell of sunless tanners has something to do with the makeup of your skin. Because some stinks so bad and then another person will say they didn't notice the smell. For example, I can't stand the smell of Neutrogena sunless tanner(s). And others have said it doesn't smell on them. So it must have something to do with the ph makeup of your skin. FWIW, I use a cheapie, No-Ad Sunless Tanner and really like it. One thing I don't like about all sunless tanners, and I've tried a lot of them, is that after about three weeks, it looks like it starts to peel off. Is there any way to prevent this? It looks blotchy after a while, then I have to let it all come off and start over again.

I use a cheapie, No-Ad Sunless Tanner and really like it. My mom uses this as well and it looks great! It's very natural and she's never mentioned that it stinks. Carman in KY (Remove nospam in address to reply. Thanks!)
