The number of complaints to the Federal Trade Commission on Franchising do not indicate ramped fraud in the franchising sector. The FTC before Congress gave a report showing that the number of complaints was fewer than one tenth of one percent, lower than any other industry. Nearly all the franchising cases the Federal Trade Commission filed, were gray, crying wolf area of law and most settled as soon as possible; considering the slow nature of our courts in America.

Is this a news group or some advertising stand for anti virus programmers ? Well, a little of both.  Personally, I don't mind as long as those who have a financial interest in a particular product identify their affiliation.  People like Dr. Solomon don't just sell their product, but offer good advice to those in need.  I don't really have a problem with it. The Borg assimilated me & all I got was this lousy T-Shirt!

Is this a news group or some advertising stand for anti virus programmers ?   If you would bother to read any of the posts from these AV people, you would realize that they spend the great majority of their time helping people in need.   Since they are the most educated people in the world on the topic of what these viruses do, you might just say thank you for having the chance to learn from them.          Dr Alan Solomon, Founder of S&S International        Chief Designer of Dr Solomon's Anti Virus Toolkit US tel (617) 273 7400              UK tel +44 1296 318700 Business: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  http://www.drsolomon.com Personal: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it    http://www.ibmpcug.co.uk/~drsolly thats cool ... the advice around here is 'download my blah blah blah' and 'come to my homepage blah blah blah' that really helps a lot ... man ... if this is the kind of advise around here ... thanks a lot. Would you rather have the AV developers step you through the steps of using Debug to eliminate a virus one in each file one by one?  Is that the kind of advise you're looking for? Regards, George Wenzel  ( `-''-/ ).___..

I wouldn't really call them the most educated people in the world on the topic of what these viruses all do...  - Executioner/[Independent]

the topic of what these viruses do, you might just say thank you for having the chance to learn from them. I wouldn't really call them the most educated people in the world on the topic of what these viruses all do...   I would.  While I grant you that virus writers have a greater knowledge than the AV people of what they _intend_ their code to do,  that isn't really important is it?  The question is what the virus will *actually* accomplish.   Since their companies rely on people to buy the product, they have a vested interest in how well that they perform the analysis of each virus.   Virus writers have no incentive greater than that of spreading their KewL handle or causing malicious damage.
